Chewing our food properly breaks it down from large particles into smaller particles. It’s these smaller particles that are more easily digested.
Small particles make for easier digestion and nutrient absorption. Pathogens – bacteria and parasites – don’t often forcibly invade or take over our digestive system. Instead they are opportunistic organisms. So basically they’re able to flourish when there is undigested food or excessive waste products for them to feed upon.
